1. GENERAL INFORMATION:
St. Joseph’s School, Kingston, was established in February 1996 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Darjeeling – Sikkim. The school is under its religious juridiction since then. The Bishop of Darjeeling – Sikkim is the President of its Governing Body.
The School aims at the education of the people of Sikkim and extends.
its services to the people in the neighborhood to the extent possible,
LOVE AND SERVICE is the motto of the school. The school lays great
emphasis on academic performance development or the pupil. It
strives to inculcate moral and spiritual values based on the concept.

The school conducts classes from Nursery to X. It is a co- educational
institution. The Medium of instruction is English. The school is
affiliated to the Council for Indian School certificate Examinations,
New Delhi. The school is situated in Kingston, Rhenock, “at an altitude
of 1030.05 mtrs. above Mean Sea Level. Hindi and Nepali are taught as
second languages. It is compulsory for all the pupils to study one of
these languages. Students of classes V, VI and VIl are taught Hindi or
Nepali as third language accordingly.
As sports, games and co curricular activities are considered inseparable parts of integral education today, the school strives to provide ample opportunities for physical development. Cricket, basketball, Volleyball, football, badminton, table tennis and athletics are some of the sports and games provided for all pupils.
The school has separate hostels for boys and girls, run by the school management and the Cluny Sisters. All outstation pupils are recommended to use these facilities.
